Made in Korea Season 2 premieres on Disney+

The second season of the Disney+ and Hulu original crime thriller ‘Made in Korea’ has premiered, following the success of its first season. Set in 1979, nine years after the events of the first season, the narrative follows Baek Kitae (Hyun Bin), who has risen to the position of Deputy Director at the Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA) in Seoul.

As Kitae seeks greater wealth and influence, the series explores heightened civil unrest in South Korea and political tensions regarding the President’s long tenure. The plot also involves a subplot in Japan, where Choi Yoo-ji (Won Ji-an) attempts to secure her position as the head of the Ikeda Clan with Kitae’s assistance. The season's storyline incorporates historical elements, including the assassination of the South Korean President in 1979.

Director Woo Min-ho noted that while the first season featured episodic, standalone-style stories, the six episodes of Season 2 are designed to feel like a single, continuous film.
