Madeira and Morocco named guests for 22nd Congresso de Cozinha

The 22nd edition of the Congresso de Cozinha will feature Madeira as the Guest Region and Morocco as the Guest Country. Scheduled for September 27 and 28 in Oeiras, Portugal, the event will focus on the central theme of “The Sea”.

The congress aims to explore the relationship between gastronomy, territory, and sustainability, covering topics such as fish selection, seasonality, aquaculture, and marine resource preservation. The event is expected to host over 80 national and international speakers, including chefs, restaurateurs, and researchers.

Morocco will be represented by chef Lahcen Hafid, who will conduct a masterclass on Moroccan cuisine. Madeira will be represented by a delegation of chefs and researchers, including Octávio Freitas and Júlio Pereira, to showcase the region's culinary identity and its connection to local products and natural heritage.
