Madeira expands Artificial Intelligence training to all secondary schools

The Regional Government of Madeira will expand Artificial Intelligence (AI) training to all secondary schools across the region, including private institutions. This move follows a successful experimental phase involving pilot projects.

During a visit to the new Digital Innovation and Competence Center in Funchal, Regional President Miguel Albuquerque stated that the initiative aims to transition from pilot programs to a comprehensive application within the regional education system. The center, located in the rehabilitated ‘Casa Verde’ building, was funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) with an investment of approximately 3.07 million euros. The facility is intended to strengthen digital skills within public administration, with a specific focus on AI.
