Madeira gastronomy festivals arrive in Lisbon

Lisbon is hosting various culinary and cultural events celebrating the traditions of Madeira. From September 10 to 20, the Jardim do Arco do Cego will host the Madeira in Lisbon festival, an initiative part of the 50th-anniversary celebrations of the Autonomies. The festival features emblematic regional flavors such as grilled limpets, bolo do caco, espetada, and traditional poncha, alongside live music, workshops, and local crafts.

Additionally, the Meliá Lisboa Oriente will hold a dedicated gastronomic week from September 14 to 18 at its Bistrô & Tapas restaurant. This initiative offers a menu of Madeiran specialties, including black scabbard fish with fried banana, meat picado, and oat dishes. The culinary experience includes traditional desserts like honey cake and passion fruit pudding.
