Madeira nominated for two 2026 World Cruise Awards

Madeira has been named a finalist for two categories in the 2026 World Cruise Awards. The region is competing for Best Cruise Destination in Europe and the Port of Funchal is a contender for the World’s Best Cruise Terminal in Sustainability.

This marks the fifth consecutive year the destination has received international recognition from the awards. Madeira previously won the Best Cruise Destination in Europe in 2022, 2023, and 2025, while the Port of Funchal was named the World’s Best Cruise Terminal in Sustainability in 2024.

In the European destination category, Madeira faces competition from cities including Athens, Barcelona, Lisbon, and Rome. In the sustainability category, the Port of Funchal competes against terminals in locations such as Montreal, Copenhagen, and Hong Kong. Public voting is open online until August 21, with winners to be announced on October 14 during a gala in Jamaica.
