Madeira promotes regional companies internationally to overcome insularity
Madeira's Regional Secretary of Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues, is promoting the internationalization of regional companies to overcome the challenges of insularity and ultra-peripherality. Speaking at the Salon International de l’Alimentation (SIAL) in Paris, Rodrigues emphasized the goal of helping Madeiran businesses establish themselves within national, European, and global markets.
Supported by Invest Madeira, five regional companies—IlhoPan, Sweets & Sugar, IlhaPeixe, Martins & Martins, and Tequerys, Lda.—are participating in the event. The delegation aims to expand access to foreign markets, build commercial relationships, and showcase Madeiran food and beverage products. This marks the third time the Regional Government has participated in the SIAL trade fair, which features approximately 8,000 exhibitors from 194 countries.
