Madeira reports high temperatures and low rainfall for July 2026

The Madeira Regional Directorate of Statistics (DREM) released meteorological data for July 2026, revealing a month characterized by higher-than-average temperatures and lower-than-average precipitation across the region.

The maximum air temperature reached 33.0 °C at the Prazeres station on July 4. The highest average temperature was recorded in Porto Moniz at 23.9 °C, while the lowest average was 16.7 °C at Chão do Areeiro. All available weather stations reported average temperatures above their climatological norms, with the largest positive deviation occurring in Santo da Serra, where the average was 1.8 °C above normal.

Regarding precipitation, all stations recorded totals below their reference values. Santana saw the highest rainfall at 15.2 mm, while several stations, including Funchal/Observatório and Funchal/Lido, recorded no precipitation at all. The most significant negative deviation in rainfall was noted in Santo da Serra, which fell 21.7 mm below its climatological norm.
