Madeira seeks to expand U.S. air connections, targeting Miami

Miguel Albuquerque, President of the Regional Government of Madeira, has announced efforts to strengthen air connections between Madeira and the United States. During a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to Portugal, John Joseph Arrigo, Albuquerque identified Miami as a potential future destination for new flight routes.

The proposal follows the current economic performance of the existing flight operation between Madeira and New York. Albuquerque noted that the significant Madeiran community in the U.S. supports these efforts, particularly in regions like Miami where many families have established multi-generational roots.
