Madeira to host EEA Grants session on domestic violence prevention

Madeira will host a session of the EEA Grants Roadshow 2026 on October 15 in Funchal. The event is part of a national initiative designed to present funding priorities and opportunities for the new cycle of the EEA Grants Portugal Program to Combat Domestic and Gender-Based Violence.

The roadshow, which runs from September 30 to October 29 across six Portuguese regions, aims to connect the program with entities working in violence prevention, victim protection, and the promotion of equality. The sessions are intended for public and private entities, educational institutions, and civil society organizations interested in developing projects in these areas.

Carina Quaresma, president of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG), stated that the initiative seeks to bring decision-making and funding instruments closer to local realities. The roadshow includes opportunities for dialogue with the EEA Grants management team to mobilize organizations working to prevent all forms of violence.
