Madeira Wine Festival receives 192,000 euro investment

The Madeira Wine Festival is set to take place from August 23 to September 13, with an investment of 192,000 euros. This budget is a decrease from the 206,000 euros spent on the previous edition. Eduardo Jesus, the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment, and Culture, stated that the reduction is due to a program that “requereu menos investimento” (required less investment).

The event involves approximately 1,300 people in its programming and maintains an expected hotel occupancy rate of 90%, consistent with last year. Key highlights include the Madeira Wine Lounge at Praça do Povo, featuring 11 wine producers, as well as masterclasses, wine tastings, and a cocktail festival. Cultural elements include the European Folklore Week and circus performances titled ‘TerraUva’.
