Madelyn Cline discusses working with ex Chase Stokes on ‘Outer Banks’

Actress Madelyn Cline has discussed the challenges of maintaining a professional relationship with her former partner, Chase Stokes, while filming the Netflix series ‘Outer Banks’. The pair began dating in 2020 and ended their relationship in 2021, yet continued to play onscreen lovers through the show’s fifth and final season.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cline noted that working together immediately following their split was “absolutely” difficult. She revealed that a turning point occurred when she asked Stokes, “Are you ready to stop being miserable? Because I’m ready,” which helped them transition back to their original friendship.

Stokes previously noted in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that the two had made a pact before dating to prioritize their professional responsibilities, stating their goal was to “leave the show better than we found it.”
