Madera County crash arrests: Father and son face charges
A father and son have been arrested following a fatal two-vehicle collision in Madera County, California. Authorities identified the suspects as 43-year-old Thomas Wood Sr. and 21-year-old Thomas Wood Jr.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred at the intersection of Road 9 and Avenue 21 when a black GMC Sierra pickup allegedly ran a stop sign and struck a Honda CRV. The collision resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including Pedro Chavez and his teenage son. One survivor was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with severe injuries.
Thomas Wood Sr. is currently held on four counts of murder and several firearms-related charges. Thomas Wood Jr. faces four counts of accessory. The victims were reportedly returning from a dove hunting trip at the time of the incident.
