Madhubani road accident kills three women in hit-and-run

Three women were killed on Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in the Madhubani district of Bihar, India. The incident occurred around 5:40 AM on State Highway-52 near the Jagdamba petrol pump in Sarisab village.

The victims, identified as Rita Devi (42), Kiran Devi (40), and Phuldai Devi (70), were residents of Nawtoli village. According to reports, the women were returning from a morning walk and had stopped to rest by the roadside when a speeding SUV struck them.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately following the collision. Local police from Benipatti and Arer have launched an investigation, which includes reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations to identify the vehicle and the driver. Following the accident, local residents staged a road blockade, prompting a significant police deployment to negotiate and clear the traffic.
