Madhuri Dixit supports Gautami Patil following dance controversy

Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit has expressed support for performer Gautami Patil following Patil's apology for controversial dance moves that sparked significant backlash in 2022.

During an upcoming episode of the Marathi game show ‘Kon Honar Crorepati’, Patil will discuss the incident, the subsequent online trolling, and the steps she has taken to improve her performances. Patil stated that the controversy was unintentional and that she immediately issued an apology to the people of Maharashtra once she became aware of the circulating videos. She noted that she has worked on herself to ensure such mistakes are not repeated and observed that her audience has shifted from being predominantly male to including a larger share of women.

Responding to Patil's account, Dixit stated, “Once you have acknowledged your mistake and taken steps to correct it, what more is there to say? There is nothing left to hold against you.”
