Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approves Rs 42,490 crore for development

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved development proposals exceeding Rs 42,490 crore. The funding is directed toward infrastructure, public welfare, and state-wide development.

Key allocations include over Rs 36,006 crore to continue the Centre-sponsored Samagra Shiksha scheme from 2026-27 to 2030-31, focusing on school education quality and vocational training. The transport department will receive Rs 1,166.60 crore for 11 schemes to improve citizen facilities, while Rs 491 crore is sanctioned for horticulture and food processing to boost farmer income.

In the irrigation sector, more than Rs 2,607 crore was approved for three major projects: Chitawad in Ujjain, Gaund in Singrauli, and Chanderi in Ashoknagar, aiming to develop irrigation capacity across more than 127,000 hectares. Additionally, the Cabinet approved an interest-free loan of Rs 2,220 crore to Markfed and sanctioned special assistance of Rs 250 for ‘Ladli Behna’ beneficiaries during Raksha Bandhan.

Separately, during an Engineers' Day celebration in Bhopal, Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the role of engineers in driving the state’s economic and social growth through innovation and modern infrastructure.
