Madhya Pradesh extends MP TET 2026 application deadline to October 11

The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has extended the application deadline for the Madhya Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (MSPSTET 2026). Due to technical difficulties and low registration numbers, the deadline for online applications has been moved from October 5 to October 11. Candidates will have until October 12 to make corrections to their submitted forms.

As of the latest reports, approximately 23,000 teachers have applied. The School Education Department has instructed district education officers and cluster principals to contact eligible teachers directly to ensure they complete the registration process. This exam is significant for approximately 150,000 in-service teachers in the state who must meet eligibility standards under the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

Teacher organizations have raised concerns regarding the process, questioning whether the exam is voluntary or mandatory and seeking clarity on which specific positions the test applies to. There have also been allegations from these organizations that officials are exerting undue pressure on teachers to register.
