Madhya Pradesh government addresses trader sealing order, launches Jan Vishwas field drive

In Bhopal, traders met Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya to request a mixed land‑use policy or a Gujarat‑style model after the Supreme Court ordered action against commercial establishments in residential areas. The court directed the municipal corporation to identify offending properties, initially around 30,000, with estimates that up to 60,000 could be affected, potentially forcing the closure of up to 90% of the city’s businesses. Traders blamed the lack of a Master Plan for the past 21 years and urged the minister to seek legal advice and present their concerns to the government and the court.

Separately, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched a six‑month Jan Vishwas Abhiyan in Chhindwara, mandating ministers, senior bureaucrats and district officials to spend every Friday in the field. The campaign aims to directly engage citizens, resolve complaints, and review the implementation of schemes such as Ayushman Bharat and Samagra ID. It includes Jan Samvad and Udyog Samvad sessions for the public and MSME entrepreneurs, with officials inspecting schools, health centres, fair‑price shops and other public infrastructure.
