Madhya Pradesh government to revive Kailaras Sugar Mill

The Madhya Pradesh government has initiated the process to revive the long-closed Kailaras Sugar Mill in the Morena district. The state's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) to lease the facility to investors on an ‘as is, where is’ basis.

The proposed lease is for a period of 30 years, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance. The facility includes 12.86 hectares of land, factory buildings, plant machinery, workshops, and warehouses. It has a daily sugarcane crushing capacity of 1,250 metric tons.

Interested companies capable of manufacturing sugar and related by-products must submit online proposals via the MP Tenders portal by September 15. Site visits for potential investors are scheduled for August 31 and September 1. The government expects the reopening of the mill to stimulate industrial activity and create employment opportunities in the region.
