Stray dog steals jewellery bag from hospital in India

A stray dog in Madhya Pradesh, India, stole a bag containing gold and silver jewellery worth approximately Rs 4 lakh (roughly R$ 21,000) from a hospital surgical ward. The incident was captured on CCTV footage, which showed the animal entering the ward, picking up the bag in its mouth, and carrying it out of the premises.

The owner, Lata Bai, had brought the valuables to the hospital to prevent them from being stolen from her home while she stayed at the facility to care for her son. Police believe the dog was attracted to food items stored inside the bag.

Following the theft, the Kotwali police used CCTV cameras to track the dog's movements through the surrounding streets. Officers successfully located and recovered the bag with all the jewellery and cash intact. The incident has raised concerns regarding the presence of stray animals within hospital premises and the security of personal belongings in patient wards.
