Madhya Pradesh police investigate two separate assault cases
Police in Madhya Pradesh are investigating two distinct incidents of violence reported in the Guna and Ujjain districts.
In Guna, a minor Dalit girl and two women were allegedly assaulted by a group of men following a long-standing land dispute. According to a complaint, the group intercepted the women as they were traveling to a police station to report missing maize. The victims were reportedly dragged into a house, physically assaulted, and subjected to caste-based slurs. The minor sustained injuries to her head, back, and arms, and her clothes were allegedly torn during the attack. Authorities have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, and are currently searching for the accused.
In Ujjain, a 20-year-old woman from Indore has alleged she was gang-raped and beaten by six men inside a moving vehicle. The victim stated she met one of the men through social media and was picked up in a car, after which several other men joined the group. She alleged the attackers used a plastic pipe during the assault before dropping her near a hospital. While an FIR has been filed against two named individuals, police are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting medical examinations to identify the remaining suspects.
