Madhya Pradesh STF uncovers international fake passport racket
The Madhya Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has uncovered an international fake passport racket operating in Bhopal and Dabra. The investigation revealed that the gang facilitated the creation of fraudulent Indian identities for individuals arriving from Bangladesh.
Authorities discovered that approximately 40 passports were issued from a single address in the Anna Nagar area of Bhopal, while around 30 were issued from a single location in the Simaria Tekri area of Dabra. The scheme involved using forged birth certificates, PAN cards, and Aadhaar cards to establish fake Indian residences before applying for passports.
Some individuals involved reportedly traveled to countries including Thailand, Malaysia, China, Sri Lanka, and Japan by posing as Buddhist followers. Two suspects, Riyal Chaudhary from Assam and Biplav Adhikari from Nagaland, have been arrested. The STF has seized laptops and confiscated roughly 60 passports across Gwalior, Bhopal, Betul, and Chhindwara. Investigators are currently tracing links to Assam to determine the full extent of the international network.
