Madhya Pradesh weather alert issued for multiple districts
Madhya Pradesh is experiencing fluctuating weather patterns following the official withdrawal of the southwest monsoon on October 3. While the state recorded 908.4 mm of rainfall this season—approximately 4% less than the normal average—recent cyclonic circulation and trough activity have triggered renewed precipitation in eastern regions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts for several districts, including Jabalpur, Rewa, and Shahdol divisions. Specific areas under alert for thunderstorms, lightning, and rain include Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, Singrauli, Maihar, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, and Balaghat.
Temperature trends show a significant gap between day and night; daytime heat and humidity persist due to strong sunlight, while nighttime temperatures have dropped by nearly 4 degrees Celsius in some areas. Clearer weather is expected across both eastern and western parts of the state starting October 10 as the current weather system weakens.
