Madison Air to acquire ebm-papst for 5.1 billion euros
The US-based company Madison Air has reached an agreement to acquire the German ventilation and air technology group ebm-papst. The three shareholder families of ebm-papst have signed an agreement to transfer their holdings to the Chicago-based group.
The transaction values ebm-papst at an enterprise value of 5.1 billion euros. While the ownership structure changes, the company’s headquarters are expected to remain in Mulfingen, Germany.
The acquisition comes amid rapid growth in demand for high-efficiency cooling solutions, driven by the expansion of digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence. ebm-papst noted particularly dynamic development in its data center business and its AI-based platform, NEXAIR, designed for predictive maintenance and energy reduction in data centers.
