Madison County man kills parents and himself in murder-suicide
A 35-year-old man, Justin Sislo, killed his parents and himself in a murder-suicide at their home in the Town of Madison, New York, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies discovered the bodies of Steve M. Sislo, 76, and Donna M. Walker-Sislo, 72, along with Justin Sislo, on the morning of August 7, 2026. Investigators determined that Justin Sislo shot both of his parents before turning the gun on himself. Upon arriving at the residence on McCormick Road, authorities noted a strong odor of propane or gasoline and heard gas leaking into the home.
The incident occurred nine days after Sislo’s parents had posted $10,000 bail to release him from the Madison County Jail. Sislo had been facing 24 charges stemming from a July 29 domestic incident, including second-degree strangulation and criminal possession of a weapon. Despite being legally barred from possessing firearms due to temporary orders of protection, a firearm was recovered at the scene. Investigators are currently working to determine how Sislo obtained the weapon.
