Funkmaster Flex involved in altercation at Madison Square Garden

DJ Funkmaster Flex was involved in a physical altercation during the New York Knicks season opener at Madison Square Garden on October 20, 2026. Video footage shows Flex charging toward an individual before security and an NYPD officer intervened to separate the parties.

Flex addressed the incident on social media, denying claims that he was struck. He alleged that a record company employee provoked him by insulting him and throwing a drink, suggesting the individual was attempting to incite a physical response to facilitate a lawsuit.

Conversely, media personality TT Torrez, a former Hot 97 colleague, released a statement through her representative accusing Flex of violently shoving her during the confrontation. Torrez stated that her husband was defending her and characterized the event as a traumatic experience. Her representatives further alleged that Torrez has faced long-term harassment from Flex, which previously resulted in a settlement and non-disparagement agreement with MediaCo Hot 97.
