Madiun regional governments finalize 2026 budget revisions

Local governments in the Madiun region are finalizing their 2026 budget revisions (P-APBD) amidst significant shifts in funding and expenditure priorities.

In Madiun City, the regional parliament (DPRD) has approved the 2026 budget draft. However, eight factions raised concerns regarding a 576 percent surge in the Unforeseen Expenditure (BTT) fund, which rose from Rp2 billion to Rp13.52 billion. The Golkar faction requested that the use of these funds be strictly limited to emergencies and disasters, suggesting the creation of standard operating procedures via mayoral regulation. Additionally, the PDI Perjuangan faction called for more detailed and realistic budget planning to ensure priority programs are specifically allocated to the correct regional agencies.

Meanwhile, the Madiun Regency government is managing a Rp97.18 billion decrease in transfers from the central government. Despite this reduction, Regent Hari Wuryanto announced that Rp89.05 billion will still be allocated to road infrastructure development. To offset revenue losses, the regency aims to increase Local Genuine Revenue (PAD) through tax intensification and digitalization, though the Regent emphasized that these efforts should not increase the financial burden on the public.
