Madonna and her 29‑year‑old daughter Lourdes “Lola” Leon have recorded a new duet titled “The Test,” featured on Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II. The song explores the challenges of fame and the strained mother‑daughter relationship, with lyrics such as “Little star / I tried to put you on a pedestal” and “I wish I knew the pain I’ve caused.”

Lola initiated the collaboration as a way to mend their bond, describing the process as “healing.” Both artists said the track allowed them to express emotions that were difficult to discuss directly, and they performed the song at a London event promoting the album.
