Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter win Best Collaboration at 2026 VMAs

Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter won the Best Collaboration award for their song ‘Bring Your Love’ at the 2026 MTV VMAs. During their acceptance speech, Madonna shared that she initiated the collaboration by sending Carpenter a direct message on Instagram after waiting five days for a response from Carpenter’s management team.

While the moment was presented with humor regarding their height and the modern methods of industry communication, some observers have analyzed the exchange through a different lens. Body language experts noted that Carpenter appeared briefly uncomfortable during the anecdote, though she ultimately responded with a smile to the audience.

In addition to the collaboration award, Madonna was named Artist of the Year at the ceremony and performed in the show's opening alongside Charli XCX and Carpenter.
