Madonna dei debitori delegation meets with Cardinal De Donatis

A delegation representing the devotion to the ‘Madonna dei debitori’ (Madonna of the Debtors) met with Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, the Major Penitentiary, in Rome to discuss the spiritual and social implications of the movement. The delegation emphasized that the message of the devotion extends beyond financial debt to address moral wounds and the need for human dignity and reconciliation.

During the meeting, the group presented two works: a novel titled ‘La Madonna dei cinque originali’ and an iconographic work titled ‘Dalla Madonna del sangue alla Madonna dei debitori’. The initiative, which began in 2004, aims to promote a message of mercy and social redemption, suggesting that a society should be measured by its ability to help individuals recover rather than just its ability to recover debts.
