Madonna's 'Confessions II – The Film' debuts at Tribeca, streams on YouTube June 8
Madonna premiered a visual short film titled “Confessions II – The Film” at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York’s Beacon Theatre. The ten‑minute piece is built around the first six songs of her forthcoming album Confessions II, which is slated for release on July 3 and marks her first new studio work since 2019. The film features a star‑studded roster of cameo appearances, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Kate Moss, Julia Garner, Gwendoline Christie, Sabrina Carpenter, and Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon, among others. Its surreal, NSFW sequences include women emitting green lasers from their pelvises and other high‑concept visual set‑pieces. Madonna announced the project on X with a poster showing her suspended from a rope, and she also gave a surprise performance in Times Square and appeared at Coachella to promote the album. The film will be released worldwide on YouTube on June 8 at 11 a.m. ET (15:00 GMT).
