Madonna launches dance‑pop sequel ‘Confessions II’

Madonna released her 15th studio album, Confessions II, on 3 July 2026. The 16‑track record follows her 2005 Confessions on a Dance Floor and reunites her with producer Stuart Price. Guest artists include Sabrina Carpenter ("Bring Your Love"), Feid, Stromae, Martin Garrix and her daughter Lola Leon on the duet "The Test".

The album opened with 13 million Spotify streams in its first full day, the largest debut for any solo female artist born in the 1980s, and placed the track "Danceteria" in Spotify’s Global Top 60. It charted across several markets – reaching the UK Top 50, Brazil 72, Germany 163, France 171 and Spain 200 – while missing the US Top 200.

Madonna promoted the release with a surprise performance at Coachella and is slated to appear in the halftime show of the 2026 World Cup, which is expected to draw over 1.5 billion viewers worldwide. Critics note the album’s blend of classic dance‑pop with contemporary electronic production and its lyrical focus on the club as a ritual space.
