Madonna stages free Times Square show while J‑Lo cites her as childhood idol

Madonna surprised fans with a 20‑minute free concert in New York’s Times Square on 4 June, celebrating Pride month and promoting her forthcoming album Confessions On a Dance Floor : Part II, slated for 3 July. The performance, streamed on Grindr’s YouTube channel, opened with the new single “I Feel So Free” and included classic hits such as “Hung Up”.

In a separate interview, Jennifer Lopez told People magazine that she idolised Madonna as a child, copying the pop star’s fashion and work ethic. Lopez said, “When I was small, I wanted to be like her,” and noted that the influence helped shape her long‑standing career as she promotes her new Netflix film “Office Romance.”
