Madonna and daughter Lourdes Leon collaborate on healing song

Pop icon Madonna said her daughter, Lourdes “Lola” Leon, was initially reluctant to work together because she did not want to be seen as exploiting her mother’s fame. In a BBC interview with Graham Norton, Madonna explained that Lourdes approached her to write a song as a way to heal their strained relationship.

The mother‑daughter duet will appear on Madonna’s upcoming 15th studio album, Confessions II, scheduled for release on July 3. Madonna praised Lourdes’s songwriting and vocal ability, stating she has “a much better voice than I do.” Both described the collaboration as a “very healing experience” that helped them move past years of resentment.

Madonna also hinted at other possible collaborations on the album, including a potential duet with Kylie Minogue, and suggested she could headline the Glastonbury Festival in 2027.
