Madonna unveils surprise short film “Confessions II – The Film” ahead of July album release
Madonna surprised fans by releasing a 13‑minute short film titled “Confessions II – The Film.” Directed by David Toro and Solomon Chase (known as Torso), the piece premiered in a private screening at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and was later posted on Madonna’s YouTube channel. The film serves as a visual preview of her upcoming album, also called Confessions II, scheduled for release on 3 July. It features early tracks such as “One Step Away,” “Good for the Soul,” and “Read My Lips,” blending music, choreography and moving images.
The production is styled with outfits from Dolce & Gabbana, pulling from both recent collections and the brand’s archives. A star‑studded cast appears, including Julia Garner, Kate Moss, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Grint, Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon. After the screening, Madonna took part in a Q&A moderated by Anderson Cooper. The short film, described by the singer as an “immersive experience where music and moving images fuse,” reinforces her long‑standing visual partnership with the Italian fashion house.
