Madonna urges concertgoers to put away phones as she promotes new album Confessions II
Pop icon Madonna is promoting her upcoming album Confessions II, slated for release on 3 July. At the Tribeca Film Festival she unveiled a 13‑minute visualizer for the record and asked attendees to store their smartphones in sealed bags, saying, “Legt eure verdammten Handys weg und sprecht miteinander.”
She also performed an impromptu show in Times Square, debuted a new track “Love Sensation,” and took part in a Q&A with Anderson Cooper at New York’s Beacon Theatre. Madonna condemned the “sea of phones” at concerts, urging fans, “Mettete giù quei c***o di telefoni e interagite,” and reiterated that her music should convey meaning rather than simply entertain.
Guest appearances in the visualizer include Sabrina Carpenter, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kate Moss, Julia Garner and Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon, underscoring her aim to blend artistic expression with a call for genuine audience connection.
