Madonna urges concertgoers to put phones down and connect
Pop icon Madonna addressed fans at the Manhattan Beacon Theatre premiere of Confessions II – The Film, urging them to lock away phones and experience live concerts directly. She criticised the “persistent need” to record everything, noting that audiences now often look at screens instead of faces, and referenced the use of Yondr phone‑pouch bags at the event.
Madonna linked her concerns to recent performances, including a Coachella set with Sabrina Carpenter, and highlighted upcoming projects: the Confessions II album releasing 3 July and her appearance at the FIFA World Cup Final halftime show on 19 July at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
