Madonna announced her upcoming album, Confessions II, slated for release on July 3. The record includes a collaborative ballad with her eldest daughter, Lourdes "Lola" Leon, intended to mend their strained relationship. In an interview, Madonna said the song—titled “The Test”—was written after Lourdes approached her with the idea of co‑writing to address lingering family trauma.

The project follows Madonna’s recent health challenges and a series of personal losses that prompted her to explore themes of grief, family conflict, and emotional healing. She also re‑engaged longtime producer Stuart Price for the dance‑oriented album, aiming to blend personal storytelling with upbeat music.
