Madonna's 'Confessions II' Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200 and Sets Global Chart Records

Madonna’s new album Confessions II, released in early July 2026, entered the Billboard 200 at number 1 with 134,000 units sold in its first week, marking her first chart‑topping album of the 2020s and her tenth overall. The achievement makes her the only artist with a number‑one album in four separate decades and places her alongside the Beatles, Taylor Swift and Drake as the fourth act with ten #1s on both the Billboard 200 and Hot 100.

The album also topped charts worldwide, including the UK where it matched Kylie Minogue’s record as the only female artist with a #1 album in five different decades. In addition, Madonna broke the TikTok Live record when a pre‑release stream of the album attracted more than 2.1 million viewers, the platform’s largest standalone artist broadcast, generating over 5.75 million likes and 139 000 comments.

Collaborations on the record include a duet with her daughter Lourdes Leon and a track with Sabrina Carpenter. The release was supported by a short film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, surprise pop‑up events in New York and London, and a halftime‑show appearance at the upcoming FIFA World Cup final.
