The Madras High Court has issued a warning regarding a TASMAC liquor shop located in a residential area of the Chengalpattu district. Justice N. Senthilkumar stated that if the shop is not relocated by October 14, 2026, the court may order the Chengalpattu District Collector to appear in person.

The ruling follows a petition by a local resident seeking the removal of the shop on Thimma Rajakulam Road, which allegedly violates rules against operating in residential localities. While the government informed the court that the District Collector has ordered a relocation, the judge declined to grant additional time for a compliance report.
