Madrid announces funding for housing rehabilitation and vineyard aid
The Madrid City Council has allocated approximately 21 million euros to rehabilitate over 3,000 homes in the Moratalaz district. This initiative has supported 273 projects, benefiting more than 7,600 people by improving accessibility and energy efficiency. The interventions have resulted in an accumulated energy saving of over 13.2 million kWh and prevented the emission of more than 2,820 tons of carbon dioxide.
Separately, the Community of Madrid has announced 500,000 euros in direct aid for wineries in the Sierra Oeste region following fires in July. President Isabel Díaz Ayuso stated that wineries facing production losses due to grape quality degradation will receive 2,500 euros each. Additional funds are designated for viticulturists based on hectares burned or damaged by heat and smoke. The regional government is also providing technical support to help local producers access European Union funding for vineyard restructuring and planting new crops.
