Madrid announces XXIV Culture Awards recipients

XXIV Premios de Cultura Madrid José Sacristán Jaime Urrutia África Guzmán Spanish culture awards

The Community of Madrid has approved the XXIV Culture Awards, recognizing 16 personalities, creators, and institutions for their contributions to the region's artistic and cultural life. The awards will be presented on September 21 at the Teatros del Canal.

Key recipients include actor José Sacristán, who receives the award for Theater in recognition of a career spanning since 1960. Jaime Urrutia, a prominent figure in Spanish pop-rock, has been honored in the Popular Music category. Dancer and choreographer África Guzmán will receive the award for Dance.

A special posthumous award for magic will be granted to Juan Tamariz. Other notable winners include photographer Jordi Socías and the Caballero brothers.
