Madrid City Council advances social policy and inclusion initiatives
The Madrid City Council is engaging in several initiatives regarding social policy and community welfare. The Council's Department of Social Policy, Family, and Equality met with the Madrid College of Social Work to discuss the reorganization of Child Care Centers (CAI). The College raised concerns regarding the new model, specifically concerning the distribution of functions, the role of civil servant social workers, and the potential reduction of direct citizen intervention. Discussions also addressed the professional responsibility and naming of social reports produced within these centers.
Separately, the Madrid City Council has signed a two-year collaboration protocol with the entity AutentiZity. This agreement aims to promote social impact initiatives, including awareness campaigns for equality and diversity, the inclusion of people with disabilities, and the prevention of school bullying. The partnership seeks to combine administrative capacity with private sector agility to address social challenges and combat discrimination and hate speech.
