Madrid City Council approves 2.9 million euro renovation for La Concepción sports center
The Madrid City Council has approved a 2.9 million euro contract to renovate the La Concepción Municipal Sports Center located in the Ciudad Lineal district. The project, announced by Deputy Mayor Inma Sanz, is scheduled to continue until the end of 2027.
The renovation plan includes several structural and functional improvements. Key works involve replacing the football field stands with prefabricated elements, repairing the canopy, and improving rainwater drainage near the skating rink. The main building will undergo remodeling, which includes updating the multi-use pavilion locker rooms and relocating the weight training area to a larger space.
Additionally, the project aims to improve the building's thermal performance through new exterior insulation. Interior upgrades will feature a new floor for the multi-use sports court and the installation of a fire detection system. The outdoor pool areas will also be renovated to address damage caused by nearby trees.
