Madrid City Council approves Valdebebas shopping center and Real Madrid land reclassification

The Madrid City Council has granted initial approval for the urban planning framework required to develop Valdebebas Shopping, which is projected to be one of the largest shopping centers in Spain. The project is being promoted by General de Galerías Comerciales (GGC), a real estate firm controlled by Tomás Olivo. The development will take place on approximately 145,800 square meters of land located near Barajas Airport.

This urban development coincides with a separate major project involving Real Madrid. The City Council has also approved the reclassification of land at the club's sports city in Valdebebas, allowing for the construction of a campus featuring offices, hotels, and commercial facilities. This reclassification is estimated to generate approximately 185 million euros in capital gains for Real Madrid.
