Madrid commissions 15 new Municipal Police inspectors

Madrid Deputy Mayor and Delegate for Security and Emergencies, Inma Sanz, presided over the commissioning of the 14th promotion of Madrid Municipal Police inspectors. A total of 15 new officers have been promoted through an internal process to serve as links between organizational strategy and street operations.

Sanz highlighted significant investments in the police force since 2019, noting that the budget has increased by 54% to 540 million euros. This funding has supported the construction of eight new district police stations, a new logistics unit, and a 61 million euro investment in vehicle fleet renewal.

Regarding personnel, the city has called for 2,800 positions, resulting in 700 additional officers on the streets. An additional 1,400 officers are expected to join between 2026 and 2028. Technological upgrades also include the introduction of Tasers, drones, and 183 new surveillance cameras, many equipped with artificial intelligence.
