Madrid Court denies disability to aesthetic clinic director

The High Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJ) has upheld the decision to deny permanent disability benefits to the director of an aesthetic clinic following a severe eye injury. The worker suffered acute inflammation and a total retinal detachment in her right eye, resulting in a loss of vision in that eye.

Despite the severity of the injury, the court ruled that the claimant can continue her professional duties. The magistrates noted that her role as a director focuses on administrative and management tasks rather than the direct application of aesthetic techniques. Because her visual acuity in the left eye remains intact and there are no reported cognitive or psychological impairments, the court determined her condition does not prevent her from performing her job functions.
