Madrid dining and wine culture trends

Madrid is seeing a surge in specialized culinary and social experiences, ranging from wine promotion campaigns to the demand for private dining spaces.

The DOCa Rioja organization has launched the ‘Rioja es muy de Madrid’ campaign, which aims to integrate Rioja wines into the city's social fabric. The initiative features multisensory experiences, including DJ sets that pair musical genres with different wine categories—whites, rosés, reds, and reserves—as well as itinerant tastings led by sommeliers. The campaign also introduces custom ‘gildas’ designed to complement various wine types across several local venues.

Simultaneously, there is a growing emphasis on the importance of reserved spaces in Madrid's restaurant scene. As holiday gatherings and corporate events approach, diners are increasingly seeking venues that offer privacy for business negotiations, family celebrations, or quiet social meetings. Establishments like Saddle are noted for maintaining traditions of discretion and high-quality service suitable for significant professional or personal discussions.
