Madrid expands birth subsidies for mothers up to age 35

The Community of Madrid is expanding birth subsidies for mothers having their third child. Under the new measure, the age limit for eligibility will be increased to include mothers up to 35 years old.

Beneficiaries can receive up to 14,500 euros. Currently, the program provides 500 euros monthly from the 21st week of pregnancy until the child turns two years old. The regional government also plans to raise the maximum income threshold required to access these benefits, which is currently set at 30,000 euros for individuals or 36,200 euros per family unit.

This expansion is part of the Natality Strategy 2027/31. Since the program's inception in January 2022, the regional executive has granted 31,157 benefits with a cumulative investment of 361.1 million euros. Projections suggest the program could reach over 45,000 beneficiaries by 2027, with total investment reaching 500 million euros.
