Madrid expands mobility services with Bolt and new rail fleet

Transport and mobility services are seeing significant developments in Spain. In Madrid, the mobility platform Bolt has secured a contract with SABA to operate in a dedicated parking area at the Atocha high-speed train station. This move follows a 50% increase in demand for Bolt's services at the station over the last year and aims to improve passenger pickup efficiency and reduce wait times.

Simultaneously, Madrid's Cercanías commuter rail network has begun deploying new high-capacity Stadler trains. Part of a 1.3 billion euro contract for 79 units, these trains are designed to increase capacity by 20% on saturated lines. However, the deployment has sparked controversy in Valencia, where the Ministry of Transport is sending 41 used Civia series 465 trains from Madrid to replace older units in the Valencian network.
