Madrid expands Salvador Dalí Square terrace space without increasing capacity

The Madrid City Council has approved an expansion of the outdoor terrace area in Salvador Dalí Square, located in the Salamanca district. According to the Official Gazette of the Madrid City Council (BOAM), the width of the terrace zone will increase from 3.60 meters to 4.10 meters, expanding the total area from 456.24 to 528.13 square meters.

This technical modification does not allow for an increase in customer capacity or additional tables. The extra 50 centimeters will be used exclusively for mobile separators with planters. This measure addresses safety concerns regarding the square's ground thickness, which is insufficient to anchor umbrellas due to an underground parking lot located beneath the plaza.

In separate culinary news, the restaurant Élkar, located on the 33rd floor of Torre Emperador Castellana, is set to reopen on September 1 for its new season. Managed by Aramark España and directed by chefs Fran Vicent and Pablo Verdúguez, the establishment offers Mediterranean cuisine and features a wine cellar with over 180 references.
